The Bookwalter Perineal Surgery Retractor is a table-mounted self-retaining retractor system that provides stable, hands-free exposure during perineal, colorectal, gynecologic and pelvic procedures. Its framework combines a 12″ field post, horizontal bar, vertical extension bar, post couplers and a notched perineal ring with five tilt ratchet mechanisms. A full complement of vaginal posterior, Deaver and malleable blades is included, supplied in a sterilization box.
Product Description
The Bookwalter Perineal Surgery Retractor is a table-mounted self-retaining retractor system designed to provide stable, hands-free exposure during perineal, colorectal, gynecologic and pelvic surgical procedures. Its mounting framework consists of a 12″ (30 cm) field post, two post couplers, a horizontal bar and a 12″ (30 cm) vertical extension bar, giving multiple mounting and positioning options relative to the operating table.
The working frame is formed by a 9½″ × 14½″ (24.1 × 36.8 cm) perineal ring with notches, supported by an 8½″ (21.6 cm) half circle segment. Five multi-angle tilt ratchet mechanisms attach to the ring and allow the angle and depth of each blade to be adjusted independently as the exposure requirement changes.
The included blade configuration covers a range of exposure needs: two vaginal posterior blades, two Deaver blades in 5″ and 3½″ lengths, and six malleable blades in ½″ × 4″, ¾″ × 4″ and 1″ × 5″ sizes. All components are manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel and are supplied in a dedicated sterilization box.
The system is supplied non-sterile and is reusable and fully autoclavable. It must be cleaned and sterilized according to the healthcare facility's validated procedures before use. Retractor Maker manufactures the system in Sialkot, Pakistan.
