The Bookwalter Bariatric Retractor System is a table-mounted self-retaining retractor designed to provide stable, hands-free surgical exposure during open bariatric procedures requiring specialized retraction. Its modular framework combines an extended field post, horizontal support components, adjustable ratchet mechanisms and an oval ring to create a stable retraction platform around the operative field.
The bariatric configuration includes an 18-inch field post, six multi-angle tilt ratchet mechanisms, a ratchet extender, a variable-angle twist ratchet and a medium oval ring. The set also includes selected Kelly, Balfour, malleable and Harrington blades in different dimensions for different retraction requirements.
The complete system is supplied in a dedicated protective sterilization box for organized storage and processing. It is supplied non-sterile and is designed to be reusable and autoclavable. Cleaning and sterilization should be performed according to the healthcare facility's validated procedures before use.
