The Bookwalter Small Incision Retractor System is a table-mounted, self-retaining retractor set configured for procedures performed through limited incisions. A 12″ field post, heavy-duty post coupler and 1″ horizontal flex bar support a small round solid ring and a small oval segmented ring, with six tilt ratchets holding malleable, Deaver, Kelly, deep rake and Richardson blades. Manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel and supplied non-sterile in a customized perforated sterilization box.
The Bookwalter Small Incision Retractor System is a table-mounted, self-retaining retractor system. It anchors to the operating table and holds each blade in position, providing stable, hands-free surgical exposure during procedures performed through limited incisions where precise access is required while minimizing tissue disruption.
The mounting system comprises a 12″ (30 cm) field post, a 1″ × 1″ (2.5 × 2.5 cm) heavy-duty stainless steel post coupler rail clamp and a 1″ (2.5 cm) diameter multi-jointed horizontal flex bar. Two ring options are supplied: a small round solid ring with an 8½″ (21.3 cm) internal diameter and a small oval segmented ring measuring 8½″ × 14″ (20 × 35 cm), which is hinged so the frame can be reconfigured around the incision.
Six low-profile tilt ratchets lock to the ring and hold each blade at the required depth and angle. The blade set includes malleable blades in three sizes, curved Deaver pelvic blades, shallow right-angle Kelly blades in three sizes, multi-prong deep rake blades and shallow flat-lipped Richardson blades in three sizes, allowing exposure to be built up progressively through a small opening.
All components are manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel. The set is brand new, reusable and fully autoclavable, and is supplied non-sterile — cleaning and sterilization must follow the healthcare facility's validated procedures before use. The system is supplied in a customized perforated sterilization box that organizes each component for processing and storage. Retractor Maker manufactures the system in Sialkot, Pakistan and supplies it directly to hospitals, surgeons and distributors, with a minimum order quantity of one full set.
