The Bookwalter StrongArm Basic General Retractor System is a compact, self-retaining retractor set for open general surgery. A height-adjustable top mount StrongArm PLUS Holder with heavy-duty rail clamp supports a medium oval ring, and four multi-angle tilt ratchets hold a Balfour blade, a Harrington blade and two malleable blades. Manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel and supplied non-sterile in a sterilization box.
Product Description
The Bookwalter StrongArm Basic General Retractor System is a self-retaining retractor system mounted on the StrongArm PLUS Holder and Positioner. The holder is attached to the operating table and holds the retracting frame in place, providing stable, hands-free surgical exposure during open general surgical procedures.
The mounting system consists of a height-adjustable, articulated top mount StrongArm PLUS Holder together with a heavy-duty rail clamp compatible with the table rail. The holder carries a medium oval ring measuring 10½″ × 14½″ (26.7 × 36.8 cm), which is positioned over the incision and locked at the working height and angle required.
Four multi-angle tilt ratchet mechanisms clamp to the ring and hold each blade at the selected depth and inclination. The basic blade complement comprises one Balfour blade at 2⅝″ × 3″ (6.7 × 7.6 cm), one Harrington blade at 1″ × 5⅝″ × 2½″ (2.5 × 14.3 × 6.4 cm) and two malleable blades at 2″ × 6″ (5.1 × 15.2 cm).
All components are manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel. The set is brand new, reusable and fully autoclavable, and is supplied non-sterile — it must be cleaned and sterilized in line with the healthcare facility's validated procedures before use. The system is supplied in a sterilization box that protects and organizes the components.
