The Rectal/Trans-Anal Accessory Set expands an existing Bookwalter General Surgery Retractor System for trans-anal and rectal procedures. It supplies four rectal blades in ⅞″ × 2⅞″ and ⅞″ × 3⅞″ sizes together with an 8.5″ inner-diameter small round solid ring, packed in a sterilization box.
The Rectal/Trans-Anal Accessory Set is an add-on kit for hospitals that already own a Bookwalter General Surgery Retractor System and need dedicated hardware for trans-anal and rectal procedures. It is not a standalone retractor system — it is designed to be used with a compatible Bookwalter General Surgery Retractor System.
The set contains two ⅞″ × 2⅞″ (2.2 × 7.2 cm) rectal blades and two ⅞″ × 3⅞″ (2.2 × 9.7 cm) rectal blades, giving two working depths for shallow and deeper trans-anal exposure. An 8.5″ (21.3 cm) inner-diameter small round solid ring provides a compact frame suited to the perineal working area.
All components are manufactured from non-magnetic, surgical-grade stainless steel and supplied in a sterilization box that keeps the blades and ring organised between cases. The set is supplied non-sterile, is reusable and fully autoclavable, and must be cleaned and sterilized according to your facility's validated procedures before use.
Retractor Maker manufactures and supplies the set directly from Sialkot, Pakistan.

The Bookwalter Retractor is a table-mounted, self-retaining surgical retractor system associated with the surgeon Dr. John Bookwalter. Understanding how the concept came about makes the design of today's systems easier to follow: a frame anchored to the operating table, a retractor ring, ratchet mechanisms and interchangeable blades.
